Chhattisgarh General Introduction

There was a time when a state called MP aka Madhya Pradesh came into existence on 01 November 1956 and Pt. Ravishankar Shukla was the first chief minister of Madhya Pradesh. Later his son Pt Shyamacharan Shukla also headed MP as chief minister. Madhya Pradesh as the name suggest was the center of India and it included the region Chhattisgarh.

Later time changed and during the regime of Shri Atal Bihari Bajpai as prime minister of India Chhattisgarh was separated as a new state, the twenty sixth state in India. The happy birth day of Chhattisgarh falls on 01 November 2000 and every year it is celebrated with bang bang except in case of election when the bang's volume is kept low.

Chhattisgarh is eight year old, nineth year running but there are light still needed to clearly and in comprehensive way tell the story from all aspects. Chhattisgarh has three CM, Chief Minister tenure and two chief ministers. Shri Ajit Jogi was the first Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh but without public election, he later fought the election to qualify as CM. Dr Raman is the second Chhattisgarh Chief Minsiter who is currently running his second term.
